Poetry Thursdays – “Lost in Time”

A/N: This was written by a very good friend of mine. Ladies, he is single and a closet romantic. Enjoy…

If I could turn back the hands of time
I’d take you back to the future
So we could relive the past
And recreate the future

We would take a trip down memory lane
Find the crossroads where the mirror broke;
The series of unfortunate accidents,
The fatal crash that took our dreams

An alternative route we would ply
And avoid the tolls that created nightmares
Then the future would be the past;
That we hoped for in the present

    I like the play in time. The whole past present and future thing made me have to think. Any body who has had a relationship can relate. Good stuff.

      Hi Tee, I’m going to try to simplify it, If i could turn back the hands of time(if i could go back to the past or time travel to the past)
      Id take u back to the future, so we could relive the past( I’d show u the future, so we see how things went bad)
      And recreate the future ( we correct the errors we would have made)
      Hope it’s clear now?

        Oh, now I seem slow.
        Thanks for this.

        The poem seems sad though!

          Yea Tee, that’s the idea; a sober reflection.
          Hopefully some not so sober poems would be posted soon, stay tuned

            I will, but don’t worry.
            I like the sad.

            There is a kind of joy and beauty that can only be found in broken things.
